QVS Services today completed fit out works at Arthur Street North Sydney for publishing company Sterling Publishing.
The fit out works to the 300sqm office involved all partitioning and office construction, including glass walls, workstation positioning and installation, electrical, cabling, joinery and cabinetry, lighting, painting and artwork hanging.
QVS Services was briefed to create a contemporary, minimalistic design across an open plan layout while factoring In break out and media rooms for client meetings and broadcasting.
In addition, as a media business a social area was required for entertaining clients and suppliers with a formal board room attached for meetings and presentations; a media wall was also required.
“We started with a blank floor,” said general manager of QVS Services Eric Brown. “Working with Sterling we created a design that maximised the use of the floor plate, giving room for common areas – such as the reception, kitchen and social area – while factoring in space for executive offices and the open plan work area.
According to Mr Brown, while the Sterling office fit out was a straight forward fit out project it had to be undertaken quickly as Sterling needed space to expand.
Sterling Publishing was ranked the fastest growing publishing company in Australia in the 2011 BRW Fast 100 and required space quickly to support its rapid growth
“We had all trades working on site at one time – which required some common sense project management. As well as managing our own construction team, we knew all the specialised trades and had worked with them before – helping to smooth the work flows and get results.
Mr Brown said that the Sterling job was what he called a ‘sweet spot’ project.
“These types of projects are ideal for QVS. We’ve got decades of experience in projects of this size and can rally our experienced team to move quickly and cost effectively to get the job done.
“Sterling was a demanding client that required quality finishes. They knew what they wanted but gave us the scope and flexibility to apply our extensive expertise to realise the results for them.”
